Make Internet Explorer 7 Your Default Web Browser.
You can set
Internet Explorer 7 as your default
browser within Internet
Explorer 7 or via the
Control Panel in Windows XP. The choice is yours.
Set Internet Explorer 7 as your default browser via the browser
1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
2. Click on Tools then
Internet Options from the Internet Explorer 7 toolbar.
3. Click on the Programs
tab within the Internet Options window.
4. Click on the Make default button within the Default web browser section of
the Programs tab.
5. Place a checkmark next to the Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the
default web browser text if you want to be notified that another browser has
been set as your default browser.
6. Click OK to save your changes.

Windows XP
7. Click the Start button in the lower left of your screen.
8. Open your Control Panel.
9. Click on Internet Options.
10. Click on the Programs tab within the Internet Properties window.
11. Click on the Make default button within the Default web browser section of
the Programs tab.
12. Place a checkmark next to the Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the
default web browser text if you want to be notified that another browser has
been set as your default browser.
13. Click OK to save your changes.
