Not enough memory

Postby FLYNNE » Thu Dec 02, 2010 12:31 pm

Microsoft Excel 2007

When trying to open this application I get the error message " Not enough memory to open Microsoft Excel".
Carried out all the usual spyware and virus scans - still unable to open Excel.

Any suggestions please ?

Hello Flynne

Can you give me a little more info? How much Ram does the PC you are using have?

How many other programs do you have running at the same time you try and open Excel?

1. I would insert your Office program CD and you should get a repair option instead of the normal install Screen. Run the Repair option and see if that helps you out.

2. If 1. doesn’t help you look and see if you have IOBit 360 installed and if you do uninstall it. Seems that this program causes more problems for Office users than good.

3. If none of the above work take a look at the following link to change you Virtual Memory.

Hello Garry

Suggestion 2. worked - this program was not in the notification area but neverless operating in the background.

Excel now opens readily after removing this program.

Thank you for your time.

Regards

Flynn
