To create a backup copy of NT Server's Registry

  1. To create a backup copy of NT Server's Registry, go to Start> Run, type regedt32 and press Enter. 
  2. Highlight the name of the first HKEY folder and select Registry> Export Registry File. 
  3. This will export the file to a folder of your choice. 
  4. Repeat this process for each file you want to export.
