Make Access More Accessible For Your User's. A lot of Access users spend many hours a day entering records using the Datasheet view. Unfortunately, a lot of database developers like maximum screen resolution and therefore create interfaces for users using screen fonts that are frequently too small to be read easily. Here's a way to empower your users to display data using a font that's easy to read and makes them feel comfortable. Open a database, choose Tables in the database window, and open any table in Datasheet view. Right-click the table's title bar and select Font. Then experiment with different "looks" by changing the value for the Size setting. You might be surprised how many users will, if given the chance, work in a 20- point font or bigger. While you're at it, you can show your users how to customize the background look and color for their table views. Right-click the table's title bar again and choose Cells. (In Access 2000, choose Datasheet from the shortcut menu.) Then let your users go to town with custom grids, backgrounds, and effects. The best part is that none of these changes has any adverse effect on forms, reports, or queries that depend on the data in this table--so your users can be as creative as they want.
