Automatically reconfigure a form's tab order (Access 97/2000/2002)

By default, Access uses the order in which you add controls to a form to determine the form's tab order (the order in which controls are selected as you press the [Tab] key). At some point, you'll undoubtedly find that controls weren't added in an order that provides a logical flow for users to cycle through. You can address the problem by changing a control's TabIndex property, but that approach is tedious. Using the Tab Order dialog box makes things easier by allowing you to drag and drop field names to put them in the desired order. However, you can often solve your problems by simply letting Access reconfigure the order based on where controls are placed on the form. To do so, display the Tab Order dialog box by choosing View | Tab Order from the menu bar. Then, click the Auto Order button. Finally, click OK to save the changes.
