To increase the number of recently displayed files from 4 to 9 

  1. Click on the Tools drop down menu. 
  2. Select the Options command. 
  3. Select the General tab 
  4. In the Recently used file list, change the number from 4 to 9 
  5. Click on the OK button to close the dialog box.
