Create a Program Shortcut

1. Right-click in the area of the desktop, or in a folder, where you want the new shortcut to appear. 
2. Click "New" then click "Shortcut." 
3. The "Create Shortcut" wizard appears, prompting you for the location of the program you want to create a shortcut for. 
4. Type in the path to the program, or use the "Browse" button to find it. 
5. Click "Next" Type in a name for the shortcut (any name you desire). 
6. Click "Finish" to create the shortcut. 
7. Windows 2000 will automatically choose an icon for the shortcut that it finds with the program, or a default icon. To change it, right-click your new icon, and choose "Properties." 
8. On the "Shortcut" tab, click the "Change Icon..." button. You may get a message saying that "The file filename contains no icons..." If so, click OK. 
9. From the Change Icon window that appears, choose an icon, and click "OK." 
10. Click "OK" again to finish your changes.
