Make the Autohide Feature of the Task Bar Appear More Smooth

Minimize all running applications, so that you can see the desktop.
Right-click the desktop in an area free from other icons, and choose "Properties" from the small menu that pops up.
On the "Display Properties" windows that appears, click the "Effects" tab to bring it to the front.
Place a check (click) next to "Show Window Contents While Dragging."
Click OK to finish the process.
Now, when the Task Bar appears from hiding, it will smoothly and gracefully slide into position and back, rather than jumping up and down.
To reverse this behavior, follow the steps above, except clear the check box in Step 4.
