Improved Keyboard Access by Using Accelerator Keys You can improve keyboard access to the Start menu or Programs menu on the Start button by placing an ampersand (&) before a unique letter in the name of items (rename them with an ampersand within the name. For example, "&MS-DOS Prompt" will allow you to type CTRL+ESC+p+m to start a command prompt). Then, you can press CTRL+ESC followed by a p (for Programs) and the accelerator key letter to quickly open an item. Emptying the Documents menu 1. Click the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar. 2. Click the Start Menu Programs tab, and then click Clear.
