Clear Your Page File on Shutdown If you would like to be able to clear the page file when you shut Windows down , follow the instructions below: · Go to Start> Run and type in: regedit· Follow this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management · Click once on Memory Management to empty its contents in the right pane. · Right click the right pane and select "New" then slide over to "Key". · Add this key name: ClearPageFileAtShutdown · Right click inside the right pane again and select "Dword" · Add this value to the Dword text box: 00000001 Note: You can also do this without regestry hacking. Go to Control panel Administartative tools, local security policy. Next, go to local policies> security options. Then change the option for "Shutdown: Clear Virtual Memory Pagefile".
