Creating A Windows XP Password Reset Disk!
Windows XP lets you create a reset disk so that, if you should forget
your password at the logon screen, you'll be able to use the disk to
reset the password.
Otherwise, you might never be able to log onto the account again. To
make the disk, you use the Forgotten Password Wizard. Here's how (the
following assumes your computer is not a member of a domain):
1. Click Start-->Control Panel, and double click User Accounts.
2. Click the account name under which you're logged on.
3. Under Related Tasks in the top box on the left, click Prevent a
forgotten password.
4. On the first page of the wizard, click Next.
5. On the next page, choose the drive letter of the disk on which you
want to create the reset disk (typically a:).
6. Enter your current password.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Finish.
This places an encrypted copy of your password on the disk. Now if you
forget the password, you can use your reset disk to start the Password
Reset Wizard and create a new password. Remember that you'll need to
create a new reset disk any time you change your password.

Try Doing A Repair Installation In Windows XP!
Running a repair install of Windows XP can be a handy way of fixing the
installation of XP without having to start totally over and deleting
important data from your PC. To do this type of install, simply follow
these instructions.
1. Boot from your XP installation CD.
2. At the welcome screen, choose enter.
3. Once at the license agreement, press F8.
4. At the next screen, choose to repair the selected Windows XP
installation by pressing R.
5. The files will begin to install and then your PC will reboot. During
the reboot you will be presented with option of booting from the CD
again by pressing any key. Don't press anything. Allow it to finish the
install without booting from the CD again.

Increase The Priority Of The Print Spooler In
Windows XP!
By default, the print spooler runs at the same priority as other
services. However, if you have a system that you use primarily for
printing, you can increase the print spooler's priority by performing
the following steps:

Effectively Troubleshoot System Problems In
Windows 98!
If you're having persistent system problems with a particular Windows 98
PC, you may want to run the System File Checker before taking the bold
step of completely reinstalling or restoring Windows.
Launch the Microsoft System Information tool (Msinfo32.exe). From the
Tools menu, select System File Checker, or run Sfc.exe from the command
prompt. At its default settings, the tool will first check all of the
required Windows executables and supporting files for corruption before
prompting you to restore any files that it cannot verify as correct.
For this restoration, you will need access to the original .cab files. A
default script holds the information used to check the files on your
disk against those originally installed from the Install CD. If you
change the settings in the System File Checker and wish to restore the
defaults, an option is available for reinstalling the original script
from the Install CD.
