3. Under Use AutoComplete for, click to clear the Web Addresses check
box, and then click OK.

Automatically Clean Up Roaming Profiles In XP!
User profiles are downloaded from the server to the local machine when a
roaming user logs on to a system. When the roaming user logs off, the
system saves a copy of the user's roaming profile in a special cache on
the local hard drive.
This cache helps the user log on to the system in the event that the
server that stores the roaming profile is slow to respond or unavailable
when the user logs on again. However, when many roaming users access the
same system, the roaming profile cache on the local hard drive can
become quite large.
Here's how to automatically delete the roaming profile when the roaming
user logs off:
1. Launch the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
I don't publish the actual hacks in my
newsletters! You can get this one at my
Customer Support Site!
This is a Free Site that I am combining several sites to. All that
you have to do is register if you haven't already!
6. Close the Registry Editor.
You may need to restart the system or log out of Windows XP for the
change to take effect.
Note: Editing the registry is risky, so make sure you have a verified
backup before saving any changes.

Muting The Modem In Windows 98!
If you use a modem with your Windows 98 computer, you may be used to
hearing the various beeps and groans it makes as it dials your ISP or
corporate network. While these sounds provide audible confirmation that
the modem is dialing (and are helpful when troubleshooting dial-up
problems), they can be extremely annoying.
One way to disable the modem speaker is to slide the Speaker Volume
control to Off. To get to the Speaker Volume control, right-click the
icon for the dial-up connector you use, click Properties, and click the
Configure button.
Unfortunately, this control doesn't work with all modems. If you run
into this problem, try this technique, which works on most modems that
accept standard AT commands: Navigate to the modem's properties as
described above, click the Connection tab, then click Advanced. In the
Extra Settings field, type ATM0. Click OK to save your changes and dial
up again--this time, you shouldn't hear any modem sounds.
