Keep The Computer Case Intact!

When you install a new internal component, make sure to save the spacer that you just removed so that you can cover the slot again. When engineers design computer cases, they also design the airflow in the system. Removing a spacer will disrupt that carefully designed airflow and cause the heat inside the case to rise, damaging sensitive computer parts.

Use Pre-Windows-XP Start Menu Design!

Not wild about the Windows XP Start menu design? Don't feel like you have to accept all the changes that come with this newest Windows release. To revert back to the older Start menu design, right-click the Start button, select Properties and on the Start Menu tab, select Classic Start Menu. Click OK, then click Start to view the old and familiar menu.

Browse The Web From The Taskbar In Windows XP!

When you start browsing the Internet, do you open a browser window first and then type your address? You can do it all in one step, right from the taskbar's Address Bar.

If you don't have an Address bar, right-click a blank area of the taskbar and select Toolbars, Address. An Address bar appears next to the taskbar's notification area. Make any necessary adjustments for example, you'll probably want to make the bar larger (click and drag its left edge to the left).

When you're ready to browse the Web, type an URL (or keywords) in the Address bar and click Go. Assuming you're already online (if not, you'll be prompted to connect), your browser window opens to that address.

Remove The Recycle Bin's Properties Context Menu Item!

Search And Destroy In Windows 98!

You can delete all files with a certain parameter easily using the Search/Find tool. For example, if you want to delete all files that have to do with your last project, and then use the Find/Search tool to find all documents that have certain keywords (such as 'Email Support Project'). After finding the documents, verify that they can be deleted and simply delete them from here. This saves having to hunt manually for files for deletion.
