De-clutter Your
System Tray By Hiding Unused Icons In Windows XP!
With Windows XP, you can manually select which icons to display in your system
tray. This enables you to view only those icons you use most frequently and have
Windows XP hide the rest.
To do so, simply right-click on the taskbar and choose Properties. Next, in the
Taskbar And Start Menu Properties dialog box, select the Hide Inactive Icons
check box, and then click the Customize button. In the Customize Notification
dialog box, you can choose one of three options for each of your applications or
processes: Hide When Inactive, Always Hide, or Always Show. Simply select an
application and make your choice from its corresponding dropdown list. Then,
click OK to close the dialog box.
