Loss of Task Manager Functions.

Q. We are running XP Home on a 2 yr old Compaq PC. For the last month or so, when we hit CTRL+ALT+DEL we get CPU usage only, and can't get any other Task Manager Functions.

A. To begin with, do you see a set of menus (e.g. File, Options, View, and Help) at the top of the Task Manager window?  If not, then double-click on the border around the CPU Usage.  Now you should see the menus.

Just below the menus, there is a set of tabs labeled "Applications", "Processes", "Performance", and "Networking" (you may not have the "Networking" tab and you may have extra tabs not mentioned, but that does not matter).  Click on the "Applications" tab.  This should present you with the view you are looking for.
