Q.  I have a WINDOWS XP HP Pavilion desktop, I would like to know if it has a database? That information can be submitted to from a webpage locally?. Like this page I am writing on now only done offline locally but so a administrator can use to submit information to a database?

A.  I do not believe that Windows XP comes with a database by default.  However, Microsoft does offer database software named Access.  It is sometimes bundled with Microsoft Office, which, in turn, is sometimes preinstalled by a retailer or manufacturer when you buy a computer.  So you may want to take a look at the preinstalled software that came with your computer and see if you have a database.  The most likely database that would have been preinstalled is Access, but different retailers/manufacturers provide different software with the computers they sell.

I do not know about the different features of the databases (Other that Access and it will accept data from a webpage on or offline) to know whether they can accept data from a webpage or not.  You will need to read through the documentation for the databases to find out about that.
