Q.
I downloaded Windows Media Player onto my laptop. I’m not much of a computer
whiz but from the researching I’ve done there is no way to completely rid
yourself of the media player because it is a feature of the operating system.
However, I do not want the media player on my laptop. Its an annoyance! Please
help me find a way to remove it completely.
A.
I do not know what methods you found during your research to remove WMP, but the
following set of steps are the only way that I know to remove it:
1. Click on the "Start" button.
2. Select the "Control Panel" option.
3. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" utility.
4. Click on the "Add/Remove Windows Components" button on the left side of the
window.
5. Scroll down the list of "Components" to "Windows Media Player".
6. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Windows Media Player".
7. Click the "Next" button.
Let me know if you need anything else.
