Q.  Six to eight months ago, I deleted a folder that was full of jpeg pictures. I emptied the recycle bin as well.  Can that folder and it's contents be recovered?

A.  If you happened to have Norton Utilities or some other product with an undelete function, then you might be able to recover the folder, but if you had no such software, then you probably won't be able to get the folder back.  There are businesses that specialize in data recovery, which is the recovery of deleted files, but I don't think that they are cheap.  If you are interested, you can find some local businesses in the yellow pages under Data Recovery.

In your case where it has been six months and depending on hard drive size and computer usage there is a good chance that the data has been written over.
