Q.
We have three computers all running XP home. One of them has "lost" the windows
media player. I think probably as a result of a
virus. I have tried to download and reinstall media player (both media
player 9 and 10) and get the same error message:
"This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of
Windows"
A.
You will need the
Windows XP
CD to reinstall the Windows Media Player. Once you get the CD, click on the
Start menu and select the "Control Panel" option. Open the "Add or Remove
Programs" utility. Click on the "Add/Remove Windows Components" button. Scroll
down the list of components and check the box next to "Windows Media Player".
Click the Next button and then follow any prompts that come up.
Let me know if you need anything else.
