IF01662 Q. I set up my home network (of 6 computers) on a Static IP system on the Linksys setup page (192.168.1.1 in browser) and after I saved it the internet did not work on this computer, I changed it back to assign automatically and it works fine. I want to know if there’s a different way to do it... I tried it before like it tells you on port forward.com and the same thing happened.. Is there something I am doing wrong? A.
192.168.1.1 is the IP assigned to the
router. That is not the IP you want to use
on the PC you are accessing the router with.
192.168.1.0 You stated in another question that your network is wireless, so make sure you have WPA enabled or the bad address could be used by one of your neighbors. Angry IP Scanner http://www.angryziber.com/ipscan/ is a good tool for determining what IP addresses are used. Let me know if you need anything else.
