Q.  I have just had XP Home installed. I want to add Word to the send to options.

I checked the help menu. It says I need the send to folder which is hidden. I found it by a search (actually there are 3),but they are zipped. I don't yet have WinZip (or similar) installed. Should I try & unzip this send to folder? Will it then be clear what to do?  I remember creating extra send to options with W98 without problem.  Hope this is clear & you are able to help.

A.  I cannot understand why the SendTo folder is zipped, it should not be.  The folder you are looking for is "C:\Documents and Settings\user\SendTo" (replace "user" with the user name with which you log into Windows).  The folder is hidden, so you will need to show hidden files and folders.  To do this, first open up Windows Explorer and select the "Folder Options" option on the Tools menu.  On the View tab, under the "Advanced settings" section, select the "Show hidden files and folders" option.  Click Apply and then click OK.

If this folder still appears to be zipped, then I do not know why, but this technique should still work.  Windows XP comes with a utility that can go into .zip files easily, so you don't need WinZip.  In this folder (or .zip file) create a shortcut to the WinWord.exe file.  Whatever you name the shortcut is what will appear on the Send To list

Let me know if you need anything else.
