Q.  I just discovered 20 of these files in the C: root directory in one of my computers and have never seen them there before.  This is what the file name looks like:
sqmnoopt00.sqm  through  sqmnoopt19.sqm  I did a Google search on it and it appears to have something to do with MSN Messenger 8.0. If that's the case, I did install the 8.0 beta version about a week ago - which originally worked, but no longer does. I haven't uninstalled it yet.

A.  sqm stands for Service Quality Monitoring, they are used by MSN to help to improve their programs. To get rid of them open MSN then, in the help, select "Program to improve our services" and check "I don't want to participate in the program".
