Readers Questions.IF01728 Q. I have a laptop that was given to me in bad shape. When I turn it on, it almost immediately freezes, even when not connected to the internet. This makes it impossible to run a virus scan or anything. My question is, what can I do to fix this problem. Even if I have to lose everything on the computer, I don't care because I want to start fresh with the computer anyways. I have nothing on it, It was given to me used. It has Windows XP. A. It may have a Restore Partition on it. When you first turn it on see if it says something like "Press F11 to restore". If it does than you can set it back to the way it came from the factory. If not you'll need the Restore CD, if you don't have them you can order them from Gateway. Let me know if you need anything else. Did this Article Give you the Information You Were Looking For?
