Readers Questions.IF01734 Q. I have a windows 2000 server, which is quickly running out of room. There must be almost a gig worth of update and hotfix install/uninstall files and info. Can I remove these files safely and recover the space? Do I need to disable System Restore before doing this? Any help gratefully accepted. A. What I do is backup to a Hard Drive, CD, or DVD and then delete them from the computer. They are there incase you have to remove an update. Probably the easiest thing to do is back them up to another hard drive on the same computer. You shouldn’t run into any problems doing this but I wouldn’t disable System Restore.
