Readers Questions.IF01736 Q. Lately I'm having to shut my pc off by the power button, which I was told is not too good for the system If I don't the computer would stay on forever. It goes as far as telling me that it is logging off and then just gets hung up there. Please help. Larry K A. Actually, it is more than likely just an application that has hung during shutdown. Every computer does it once in a while, because the O/S does not have the 'authority' to close all applications. Have you added any new programs or hardware recently? This will sometimes happen when removing a piece of hardware if it is not removed in the device manager correctly. Let me know if you need anything else.
