Q.
How do I display Administrator account option?
When I
first installed
Windows XP, I made the mistake of renaming the Administrator account on the
Welcome screen instead of creating a new account with administrator rights. Now,
there are only two accounts to choose from that are displayed on the Welcome
screen, My Account (administrator) and Guest. I'm trying to get the
Administrator account choice to be displayed as well, and if I try to create a
new account called 'Administrator' in Control Panel>User Accounts, it tells me
that 'Administrator' already exists. Since it already exists, how do I get the
Administrator account to be displayed on the Welcome screen?
A.
If you're running XP Home, the account named "Administrator"
is only available in
Safe Mode.
EDIT: In XP home, if you use "administrator" as the computer name, then the
Administrator account will appear in the login screen.

If I remember right,
Windows XP will never let you create a new account named "Administrator",
nor will it let you rename an existing user account "Administrator".
It is
important to note that there is never one fix for a question.
What may work for one person might not for the next. Depending on the problem
and the way it is described by the Computer Owner there may be Six different
approaches to a positive outcome. If the first answer I give you to your
question doesn’t work let me know and I will send you another.
Just give me details.
