Q.
My desktop icon fonts now have a colored box around them.
The fonts
use to be transparent, so all you see is the fonts, i.e. my computer, my
documents etc. Now they are displayed on an annoying colored background. I have
looked at my desktop properties, but can only change the colors. How can I
revert back to the plain font. Thanks for your help.
A.
Try this and let me know if it works for you.
Open System Properties in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click
Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon
labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.
