How You Should be running a scan using Ad-Aware.

In many cases I've seen, people don't give importance to updating the pattern files for Ad-aware or any other Anti-Virus software. This is a bad idea. The pattern files tells the scan engine which are known malware. Lavasoft Ad-Aware releases reference file updates frequently and one must update it before running a scan. Otherwise, detection will be poor. Running a scan without updating the reference file, is of no use.

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and follow this:

- Start Ad-Aware

- Click "Check for Updates", "Connect" and download the latest pattern file if available. and click Finish

- Click "Start" "Next"

- After the scan is finished, click "Next"

- Select all the items (checkboxes)

Right click on any object in the "Scan result" list and choose [Select all objects]

- Click Next and click OK to confirm removal.
