running XP home. One of them has "lost" the windows media player. I think
probably as a result of a virus. I have tried to download and reinstall media
player (both media player 9 and 10) and get the same error message

have a question I hope that someone can help me with....I just recently bought a
laptop, and I don’t really know much about computers so I thought that with a
laptop I could go on the internet anywhere that I'm at and not have to plug
anything in (like dial up), but now I see that is not the case, so I’m confused,
I thought laptops were supposed to be wireless. Is there something that I need
to do or get to be able to connect to the internet without having to dial up?
and I want to be able to take my laptop with me to Europe when I go on vacation
this summer, would I be able to do that and how would I get an internet
connection?

brother has a pop-up ad frozen on his system. He's tried several remedies but
they have not worked. A radio computer tech suggested he uninstall Windows XP.
He did not upgrade to XP. My question is should he simply use the uninstall
feature on his system and what will he lose, if anything, when he does? Or

I recently installed XP professional, decided I did not like it and switched
back to Home version of XP. Now upon booting up it always asks me which

I set up my home network (of 6 computers) on a Static IP system on the
Linksys setup page (192.168.1.1 in browser) and after I saved it the internet

My Neighbor across hall from me, has a problem getting his "classic view"

a program called SuDown, which tries to manage the annoying admin
rights problems. Problem: you can only designate people for it as admin. Having
Windows XP Home, that's a pain. I uninstalled it.

Windows XP Pro. Very simple question, when I double click a picture in My
Pictures, it of course opens a separate window to show the picture enlarged. If
I click on another picture, it simply replaces the picture in the already opened
window with the new one. Question is How can I see this 2nd

often it becomes a nuisance. Is there a way to prevent the PC from

probably is an easy fix. My wife has a Dell Inspirion with XP Pro. I have a
Dell Dimension with XP Pro. When I go to a site that needs a form filled out, my
name, address, etc. is in memory and appears so all I have to do is click on it

XP. In earlier versions of windows, I could make a (I guess program group is the
right name) program group, for instance "printing and graphics", then I could
put all my programs that pertained to printing and graphics into that group.
Then when I pushed start / programs I would have to select "printing and
graphics" to access say, Print Shop. All printing and graphics programs were in
that group. I cannot find how to do that in XP.
