IF01701  I have XP Home installed on my HP Notebook. As with most Windows users I get automatic Windows updates from Microsoft. After the updates are downloaded and installed a folder is created in my C:\Windows directory with "uninstall" data. (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB8733.....etc.) It has gotten to the point where the number of these folders has grown to well over 100 and I'm wondering, if my system is working well after the update was installed, Can I safely delete all the folders manually without creating any havoc on my system? And if I can manually delete the folders, would I have to make any Registry changes also?  08/08/2007 
IF01702  I use to have the option "On resume, display welcome screen" in the display properties, but now it changed to "on resume, password protect". How do i get that option back? I like displaying the welcome screen better.

IF01716  I have just bought a PC which comes with pre-loaded XP and does not include a Microsoft XP CD. The pre-loaded version imposes restrictions (e.g. on the ISP I can use) so I would like to reload from scratch to eliminate any non-Microsoft features. Am I entitled to a Microsoft CD? I am using Windows XP Pro, at first I want to create a guest account for my colleagues who can use my computer so that I can protect my documents. But I accidentally created the guest account as administrator. So when I start the computer it goes direct to the guest account as administrator, and I can't log in to my previous settings. IF01720  My comp has been incredibly slow for a while now. i thought it was an installed software's problem, but now I’m sure it's permanent, since the software was uninstalled. I own an HP 3200 AMD Athlon with 512MB Ram and it runs Windows XP Home edition. I have tried lots and lots of software like registry cleaners, I have Zonealarm and Norton with windows defender, and Malware Guard and have used CCleaner recently as well as Spybot S&D and ad-aware, and a-squared. But somehow, even after lots of bad files and viruses etc have been deleted my comp is still very slow. Please Help.  Thank you!  08/20/2007 
IF01721  I have a problem with my son's computer that I hope somebody can help me with. It is a Compaq with Windows XP SP2. It sometimes runs very slowly and the cooling fan runs quite loudly. Other times it runs and sounds normal. I used msconfig to turn off the programs that I didn't need running and am constantly running virus and antispyware software. IF01724  I just discovered 20 of these files in the C: root directory in one of my computers and have never seen them there before.  This is what the file name looks like:
sqmnoopt00.sqm  through  sqmnoopt19.sqm  I did a Google search on it and it appears to have something to do with MSN Messenger 8.0. If that's the case, I did install the 8.0 beta version about a week ago - which originally worked, but no longer does. I haven't uninstalled it yet.  08/20/2007
