To view two programs on your screen at one time just make sure the programs are open on your desktop.  Next just Right Click on the Task Bar in a blank space.  When the menu pops up just select Tile Windows Horizontally.  When you want to return to a normal screen just Right Click on the Task Bar again and Select Undo Tile.
