You Can Change the name on your computer in Windows 98 If Windows came preloaded and has an existing name. Here is how to change it: NOTE: Always back up your registry before making changes as a safety precaution. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion. Click "CurrentVersion" to open its contents in the right pane. In the right pane, double-click the "RegisteredOrganization" or "RegisteredOwner" (which-ever is fitting) options and type in your name or organization. Exit and restart Windows.
