Speed Up Your Windows 98 This tip helps many systems to run faster, individual performance may vary. 1 - Click Start >Settings >Control Panel. 2 - Double click the System listing. 3 - Click Performance tab. 4 - Click File System button. Look for Typical role of this computer under Settings and you'll probably find your system is set up as a "Desktop computer." Change the setting to "Network server" and reboot your system. This change dedicates more RAM memory to your disk cache, instead of accessing your hard drive as often. Note: Systems with 32+ MB of RAM will benefit more from this change.
