If your monitor seems slow to refresh with Windows 98

If your monitor seems slow to refresh or exhibits a "choppy" behavior, your graphics card may not be set for maximum acceleration. 

You can check the settings by performing the following:

1 - Right-click a blank area of the desktop and choose Properties

2 - Click the Settings tab

3 - Click Advanced Properties

4 - Click the Performance tab

5 - Under Hardware Acceleration, move the slider all the way to the right

6 - Click OK. 

Changing this setting should speed up your display, but if it leads to problems with your mouse pointer or other display elements, return the slider to its previous position.
